Call for implementation grants 2017

Aim

Barncancerfonden (The Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation) calls for proposals for implementation grants in the area of children oncology. The aim is to support and facilitate the implementation of evidence-based health care or treatment methods at Swedish clinics.

Terms and conditions for the call
Grants may be allocated for projects that aim to implement or to investigate the possibility to implement a new health care or treatment method at the clinic. Projects that aim to study general implementation processes will not be allocated in this call.

Barncancerfonden finances research projects expected to be beneficial for Swedish children with cancer and/or Swedish children oncology research. Applications with an indirect relevance for children oncology may also be granted. The relevance for patients and/or childhood cancer research in Sweden should however be clearly demonstrated.

The decision of approval of grants is based on a peer-review process. Submitted applications are evaluated by independent research committees with respect to research problem, methodology, feasibility/merits of the applicant(s), relevance for children with cancer, and when applicable the scientific report.

Implementation projects are granted for a time period of one to three years.

Within the call, a new project or a continuation project may be applied for. An application for a continuation project is an application for continuation of funding for a project that has previously been financed by Barncancerfonden. Some modifications in the project approach are legitimate. An application for a continuation project must be submitted no later than two years after the project time of the original project has expired. The application is otherwise for a new project. A continuation grant based on an ongoing project may be applied for if the latter is finalized after the current call but prior to the thereafter next call for the samt grant type. The project number for the previously approved project should be stated.

An implementation grant in the form of a continuation project may also be applied for based on a project grant if the implementation project is directly related to the project grant. See also Special terms below.
