Travel grants

Description of the call

Barncancerfonden calls for proposals for travel grants to researchers within the area of children oncology. The call is open three times per year. Allocated travel grants are intended to fully or partly finance travel costs to conferences and congresses within the area of children oncology. The grant is sought in advance.

Eligible to apply

Eligible to apply are e.g. medical doctors, researchers, counselors, psychologists and nurses. The applicant should be active in the field of childhood cancer.

Active participation is a prerequisite for approval of an application. It should be clearly stated that the applicant is the presenter. See more details below for the abstract in the application.

Approved costs

Travel grants are generally intended to fully or partly cover low-price return tickets, hotel costs, registration fee, and return transfer tickets. Allowance or meal costs are not approved costs. The travel grant is personal and may only be used for the purpose specified in the application.

Barncancerfonden allocates maximum flat rate sums depending on the destination: 9000 SEK for travel within the Nordic countries, 11 000 SEK for travel within Europe, and 20 000 SEK for travel to a country in the rest of the world.

Administration

The grant is to be administered by a Swedish university or institute, alternatively another Swedish organization with research as its main purpose in collaboration with a university or institute.

A specified requisition is sent to Barncancerfonden after the travel. In exceptional cases, the travel grant may, after request, be disbursed to the main applicant.
