Symposia
Description of the call
Barncancerfonden calls for proposals for the organization of 1-2-day research symposia within the area of paedriatic oncology. Generally, symposia should be organized in one of the Nordic countries.
In exceptional cases, funding may also be allocated for the organization of international work meetings if its core activity is in paedriatic oncology with a scientific exchange. Grants are not allocated for board meetings.
Eligible to apply
Eligible to apply are e.g. medical doctors, researchers, counselors, psychologists and nurses. The applicant should be active in the field of childhood cancer.
Approved costs
Grants for research symposia are generally intended to fully or partly cover venue costs, meal costs (not alcoholic drinks), and travel- and hotel costs for e.g. invited speakers. Generally, a maximum of 500 000 SEK and 50 000 SEK will be allocated for symposia and work meetings respectively. Allocated grants for symposia/work meetings may only be used for the purpose specified in the application.
Administration
The grant is to be administered by a Nordic university, hospital or institute, alternatively another Nordic organization with research as its main purpose in collaboration with a university, hospital or institute.
The grant is disbursed retractively after submission of a requsition/contract and approved final scientific report. An invoice can be sent directly to Barncancerfonden if agreed in advance.
Reporting
A report should be submitted via the application system after the symposium. Reporting is mandatory and the grant will not be disbursed if the report is not submitted.

Application documents
A complete application is submitted via the application system. A complete application includes a filled-in form and a program as attachment. Note that the application may not be submitted electronically if mandatory information is missing. Attachments must be in PDF file format (maximum 2 MB). Additions or revisions after closure of the call are not accepted.
Confirmation of the application
The application must be confirmed by the main applicant and the head of department, director or equivalent in order to be valid. The main applicant confirms the application in connection to submission. Note that this must be done before the closure of the call. The day after the call has closed, an email with a request to confirm the application is sent to the head of department, director or equivalent you have stated in the application. Confirmation must be done no later than 7 days after the call has closed.
Application period
Refer to the web page of Barncancerfonden. Note that the call closes at 14:00 the last day for application. Applications cannot be submitted after the closure of the call.
